Carol Ann Rasmussen, clay artist and painter

Octoberfest

Carol Ann Rasmussen is a Colorado artist and her paintings reflect her passion for color and design.  Her complementary color schemes coupled with her natural instinct for design invite viewers in to appreciate her alcohol ink canvases.  Carol Ann skillfully applies harmonious patterns of color that create well-balanced landscapes.

Even though Carol Ann considers herself a colorist, she is always open to a challenge and studied clay art at a co-operative studio under Tom Coleman.  In typical Carol Ann style, the artist immersed herself in learning every aspect of pottery that included the ferric chloride technique taught by Ron Cloyd.

Once Carol Ann became comfortable with the chloride technique, the artist hand built a collection of fish and dog sculptures.  Using low fire stoneware clay to make the pieces, each lifelike work sparkles with character that evokes memories for those who admire her unparalleled style.

After years of struggling to gain recognition as a serious artist, Carol Ann’s paintings and sculptures are now on display in numerous art galleries through out the Northwest of the United States.  The artist has also won various awards in local and national exhibitions for her inimitable paintings and clay sculptures.
